Sacoora

Sacoora was a micro-mobility start-up that was quickly acquired by Circ (later also acquired by Bird) proving its great value for product placement, branding, and communication. We created Sacoora’s full brand for both their visual communication as well as their physical products and also the enrolling tutorial for the app.

Open Project

Choose your own path, a sustainable one

Sacoora was a micro-mobility service launched in Berlin back in 2018, specializing in high-end bike-sharing. Focusing on a user-centric model, and quickly claiming quality-oriented market share, it fastly gained traction and was acquired by Circ within its first year of operating in Berlin.

Sacoora wanted to run from the elitist brand-looking product to dive into playful and inclusive branding. A different type of company for a different type of mobility.

Logo idea

The idea for the logo comes from the combination of a cherry blossom leaf and the bicycle pedal.

With this idea in mind, we delivered an easily recognizable and unique logo to stand out within the mobility space.

Brand values

01

High-end

Sacoora got its name inspired by the Japanese flower Sakura (cherry blossom flower), which is widely used to indicate quality, traditional, and hand-crafted products in Japan.
02

Young

The aim of the company was to directly target a young, climate-conscious audience. Also, the quality of the bikes was intended to appeal to those looking for something better than what was on the market.
03

Distinctive

The choice of purple as the main color was also a deliberate choice as no other mobility company was using it, translating our idea of distinction in the mobility space.
04

Playful

In juxtaposition with the association between high-end and sobriety that other brands often use, Sacoora wanted to break those stereotypes with a more playful and festive approach for their brand.

Minimal but recognisable

One of the challenges was the need to respect the minimal aesthetics of the bicycle, including a highly visible and easily recognizable element.

For that, we were inspired by classic cycling teams and their brand placement. In addition, the selection of the corporate palette was envisioned to expand the range of vehicles, thinking of having different fleets represented by their own colors.
